What to Ask a Cosmetic Breast Surgeon During a Consultation?

Breast augmentation or augmentation mammoplasty is used to increase breast size. The method involves placing implants behind the breast tissue or under the chest muscles. Some women undergo the process to feel more confident. While in others, it is a part of rebuilding the breasts due to certain conditions. So, if you are going for the procedure, schedule an appointment with a surgeon. It will help you to understand what the surgery involves, including risks, complications, and follow-up care.

Discuss your goals with the doctor if you want to enhance your appearance, build your confidence, or adjust your breast size after pregnancy or weight loss. When looking for the best Cosmetic Breast Surgeon, it is important to do your research. Some doctors provide a free consultation that can give you a chance to meet them and access their comfort level with them, but you usually need to pay for a detailed review, assessment and expert discussion. However, knowing which questions to ask during the meeting is important.

So, before choosing the best breast surgeon, let’s find out which questions are crucial. The first question you may ask is, he/she is Royal College of Surgeons certified in cosmetic breast surgery? Are they on the medical register of the GMC as a consultant surgeon, and it their specialist are in the breast? How long have they been a consultant surgeon? It assures you of their skills and abilities to deliver high-quality care. Next is, do they specialize in breast augmentation? Surgeons undergo extensive specialized training and are truly committed to the field.

Further, know about their experience and how often the surgeries are performed. Also, ask them to share some before and after pictures of patients. Know about the risks involved and how long the procedure usually takes. Finally, enquire about the breast surgery price. The costs may vary based on where you live in the U.K. and of course, the experience of a Cosmetic Breast Surgeon & an individual case. In case you find a surgeon who quotes a price that is drastically less than others, think carefully before making the final decision.

You must also ask about the lifespan of implants, how they should be managed in the future and what to look out for. They are not lifetime devices and you will need future further surgery so you must know this in detail.

Essential Reasons Why Many Women Prefer to 'Remove Silicone Implants'

Plastic and Aesthetic Breast surgeons are highly in demand for various surgeries such as breast enlargement, nose jobs or liposuction. It has been observed recently that more women who once loved artificial implants are now rushing to get them removed. The increase in the data following such a trend is quite high. Women have in the past opted for breast augmentation to lift their self-confidence as well. However, today, there is a deflation of the usage as they are now happy with their natural shape.

Women may get bored or face an issue with the implants and as a result of this, they have explantation surgery to remove the implants. However, to Remove Silicone Implants, it is of paramount importance to only seek professional guidance.

Besides, there are plenty of reasons to get them taken out and for your convenience, we have summed up a few major ones. Fundamentally, after having them for a few years, sme women start feeling uncomfortable as the capsule might have caused your implants to become too tight and affecting the shape of your boobs. Usually, this complication happens due to improper development of the capsule that forms around the implant.

In addition to this, implants can rupture or even bleed gel leading to silicone in the breast or armpit tissue or even elsewhere in the body. This process can progress and lead to an alteration in the shape of your bust when dealing with it, which can make you feel really conscious. Thus, it is crucial to consider to Remove Silicone Implants at the right time and not to just ignore them. This can be done by consulting an expert only. In order to find the right one, you should do some research or else ask for a reference from someone who has had experience under their care before.

Everything Topical About BIA-ALCL: Facts, Symptoms & Those at Increased Risk!

Breast cancer is one of the most common cancers found in women, affecting 1 in 8. Various steps are taken to spread awareness about it, but there is much more to know to keep the risks down and to be alert to changes in your breasts. Some women fear it could be caused by deodorant or even breast implants although this has been thoroughtly researched and proved to be incorrect. But the absence of proper guidance leads these myths and others to prevail.

One such misunderstood cancer that can occur in women with breast implants is BIA-ALCL. This is not a breast cancer at all but where lymphocytes (cells from the immune system which are normally found near the scar tissue of the implant) become abnormal and turn cancerous around the implant. According to the recent reports by the FDA, 573 unique cases have been registered worldwide pertaining to breast ALCL. One must also know that these are not at all common, and in fact when looking at all implants, the lifetime risk is probably between 1 in 1000 and 1 in 82,000 depending on which study, and which type of implant is being discussed. Overall in the UK the MHRA reports a rate of 1 in 24,000 implants.

The symptoms include: persistent swelling is the commonest, but it can occur with more subtle changes, or an initial rash or constant itch. A mass in the area of the implant or under the arm should also alert a patient. It can only be confirmed by an expert after full evaluation and diagnosis of the fluid collection, any lump or sometimes even the capsular contracture. Women with textured implants/polyurethane implants are therefore a group with this uncommon risk of getting BIA-ALCL. This still remains a far smaller risk than a woman’s lifetime risk of breast cancer. And although most women with breast implants never have symptoms, the commonest is infact due to the gradual development of a tight scar around the implant, which is termed capsular contraction, ans is usually a benign process.

Myths perpetuate on the internet that BIA-ALCL, which is a are non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma is mostly misunderstood to be a breast cancer. This causes excessive anxiety, as BIA-ALCL can be readily treated if you get in touch with an experienced and professional team at an early stage of getting a chronic swelling, and after diagnostic workup, having complete removal of the implants and the capsule. This is called enbloc capsulectomy and explantation. Have a prior consultation with the experts to know the procedure and risks associated with it before finally having it done. But fear about this uncommon malignancy is spread on social media, driving some women to seek preventative removal of their implants. And futher more, to seek the enbloc capsulectomy of even a normal scar capsule around the implant ‘just in case’. But there can be risks, limitations and consequences of additional more ablative surgery. Women should therefore be mindful of being persuaded into incorrect surgical approaches by the social media keyboard champion (we have all seen these) who may thrive from presenting themselves as the patient’s expert, and having the greatest numbers of followers on their page, but however well meaning they might be, do not see the holistic side of the situation let alone have the necessary professional training. The regulators (such as the FDA and the MHRA) and professional bodies (the ABS, BAAPS and BAPRAS) have updated information on BIA-ALCL and provide a professional source of reference about this to women who have concerns. We recommend those resources and urge anyone with concerns to contact a specialist.

Do You Need Breast Uplift Surgery? Here are the Questions to Ask Yourself!

It is common and inevitable that breasts sag with age and also after pregnancy. Drooping breasts can be devastating for body confidence, however, there is a plethora of different cosmetic surgeries which can help you regain your figure and self-love. With a range of procedures to choose from including augmentation, implants, and more, most women can find a solution to sagging boobs.

If you are struggling to decide whether or not to go for a procedure, here are the questions you need to ask yourself. Check out what advice the Breast Uplift experts in Leeds have to help you make the right decision:

Do the nipples point downward?
As the skin stretches, the boobs begin to sag and the weight of the breast will also pull the nipple downward. The breast becomes elongated. The breast uplift procedure can help the nipple regain its position and make it face forward to get a much more natural look.

Am I happy with the same size or do I need a size improvement as well?
The breast lift procedure will not significantly change the size of the breasts rather it will make them look fuller, and a better shape. One can also expect to feel better in a bra. If you want larger breasts, or better fullness especially in the upper half of the breast, a breast augmentation procedure can be used. Occasionally this can be done along with an uplift procedure, but it is safer to perform it separately, usually 4-6 months afterwards for best results.

Are the breasts asymmetrical?
If the sagging breasts look asymmetrical or are unusually shaped, this is also the procedure to go for. Breast uplift helps improve the breast symmetry by reshaping the tissue and it creates more natural, round shaped breasts and rebalances the position of the areola.

This ends a small yet important three-questions-guide as to whether to choose the procedure of Breast Uplift in Leeds or not. If you have drooping breasts and you want to make them look attractive again, ask these crucial questions before making your decision.

Brief Details Of Important Things You Need To Know Before Getting A Boob Job!

The number of cosmetic surgery procedures has been on the rise in the last three decades and this is the reason that breast augmentation is the most popular. Women have an opportunity to get the real feel of womanhood and get their confidence to conquer the world.

But is it safe? What will be the results? What are the different implants? There might be many questions circling in your head. One should get answers to all these questions before undergoing Breast Enlargement in Leeds (otherwise sometimes referred to more colloquially as a “Boob Job In Leeds”), a leading center in the UK for this type of surgery. Here we have answers to your common questions:

1. What are the different types of implants available?

Basically, there are two broad types of implants on the market namely the saline and silicone implants. The saline implants are filled with salt water while the silicone implants are filled with medical-grade gel. These are available in different sizes and shapes as well to suit different needs. Implants have different surface characteristics too, and may be described as smooth shelled or textured. Even the textures are described in different ways with terminology such as macrotexture, microtexture and nanotexture being used. Discussions surrounding this are quite technical but are important and we have additional information on our website relating to this.

2. What will be the procedure lead to? What should I expect?

One can expect to have a better, fuller size and also an uplift in the breast shape, increasing the upper pole fullness of the breast according to your starting point and the implants chosen. The asymmetry in the breasts can sometimes be one of the problems addressed through this procedure, although other techniques may be required. One also gets a better breast to hip ratio, feminizing your appearance. Some women who have the problem of severe breast sagging, need to undergo a breast lift operation as well. The expert surgeons can help a person with both the operations while undergoing a Boob Job in Leeds.

3. What should I ask my doctor regarding the surgery?

There are many normal questions that are asked by women undergoing the procedure. What are the results to be expected? Will there be scars? What are the future risks while breastfeeding or going for mammography? One should also ask about the recovery time after the surgery and about precautions with activities after the operation.

4. Are there any risks related to the surgery?

There are some normal short term risks of the procedure which might include wound healing care, or nipple numbness that usually fades away with time. Other rare risks involved in the procedure may occur years later and include capsular contracture, implant leakage, asymmetry of the breasts, or very rarely implant lymphoma. It is advisable to consider renewing the implants at 10 -years.

So, are you ready to get the real feel of womanhood and bid farewell to empty breast or difficulties because you are flat-chested? This article would have given introductory answers to some of your questions but hey must be explored in a lot more details before getting a Breast Enlargement in Leeds (Boob Job). General Complications One Might Encounter When They Remove Silicone Implants

Although you can go to a very popular name that you know, for the procedure of breast implant removal you might have some complications that you did not expect. Going to an expert can reduce the risks, the number of complications that arise, and forewarn you about these. But even then, one cannot be absolutely certain of not getting any issues, as by the very nature of that surgery there are cosmetic consequences. When implants have been present for many years, the tissue characteristics change, and having surgery again gives less predictable results. But before you learn more about the procedure, let us explore a little further about what one can face following this surgery:

1. Less sensitive breasts: This is a common symptom that occurs in women after they Remove Silicone Implants. The sensation felt in the breasts and the sensitivity of the breast skin or nipple will be altered and sometimes quite numb compared to normal. These symptoms might abate after a period of about six-12 months. Although this is quite a normal consequence it can affect the normal erotic sensitivity that you had in your breasts before.

2. Breast sagging or deformity: This is one of the most obvious consequences that follow after the surgical procedure. The shape of the breasts is maintained with breast implants in place. Sometimes this is even more maintained because of thicker surrounding implant capsules too, acting as an extra support against tissue sag. Once these are removed, you can be sure the breasts will sag down and will have lost their shape. The tissue around the nipple may sag inwards giving a saucer type deformity, or a crease may form across the areola because there is no longer any supporting tissue behind it. The upper breast is usually flat.

3. Thick, red or painful scars: One of the problems can include the development of thick, red and painful scars on the breast area. The real issue is that these might continue for years after surgery. It is a type of reaction called hypertrophic scaring. There can be a genetic predisposition as well.

4. Capsule deformity to the breasts: If you have severe capsular contraction and your surgeon does not deal with but just removes the implants, the retained capsule tissue can be an ongoing issue. This will depend in part of how the capsule has formed. Where it is thickened or calcified it is generally better that it is removed during surgery where feasible and safe. If it has not been removed, a calcified thickened capsule can feel hard and abnormal and contribute to a misshaped appearance.

5. Seroma: It is possible that a seroma, which is a collection of watery yellow fluid can form in the cavity where the implants were. If this is a benign seroma, and of small volume it is not usually an issue and can sometimes even be somewhat beneficial in that it can help maintain a little shape behind the lower breast. Anything else, needs to be checked by your specialist, especially to consider complications or rare malignant conditions.

So, be prepared to experience these side effects when you have wanted to go for a surgery to Remove Silicone Implants. But yes, to reduce the side effects of the surgery, prefer an experienced surgeon for the procedure.

Reasons Behind The Popularity Of Silicone Breast Implants!

Smaller breasts sometimes dampen the confidence of women and negatively impacts their body image in front of their friends or partner. This is a common reason for having breast enlargement whether from silicone or saline breast implants. But between both, Silicone Implants in the UK are by far the most popular choice. Here are the reasons why they score significantly over the salines ones, so review these points:

1. The feel: No woman would like to get bigger breasts and not feel natural. When it comes to the feel, silicone implants usually offer a more natural feel like natural breast tissue and are softer to touch as well.

2. Durable: One might ask a question that if the breasts feel so natural and soft, then the implant might rupture and create problems. But to one’s surprise, a newly placed modern implant can easily withstand more than the force of a mammogram. This ensures that they are safe for a longer duration without rupturing. We still recommend replacement at 10 -years though as 10% are shown to rupture by this time on MRI studies, as most materials do eventually weaken.

3. Safer: Some people argue that it is not safe to get silicone implants as these might cause diseases. But, here is the truth! Silicone has been used for decades in numerous medical devices including joint replacements, artificial heart valves, and even pacemakers and is one of the best studied medical substances of all time. Diseases can occur but these are rare as demonstrated by large studies. Over 10million women have had breast implants!

4. Empty or unequal breasts: This is one more advantage they offer and answer those who might advocate that these implants give you uneven or unnatural breasts. But for this, one must go to an experienced and certified surgeon only.

5. Removeable: This is one operation that can be undone. Usually the implant is placed through a cosmetic incision in the natural crease under the breast. When it is time to remove them, the same incision is used and out it comes.

So, now you know that why are the Silicone Implants In the UK are so popular. If you still have any doubts, feel free to consult an experienced doctor and have an appointment to make yourself absolutely clear before choosing it!

Major Reasons To Choose Silicone Breast Implants Over Saline

For women, their beauty and physical appearance have for long been an important sign of their femininity. In this area we find women do not take any compromise as everyone wants to look good and to be adored. Especially so is that the breasts are something that truly enhance the charm and beauty of a woman which makes them look even more attractive. Therefore, it is desirable to have well-defined, perky boobs which can not only boost your self-esteem but also improve your overall body image.

As of now, breast enlargement is one of the most trending options that people are opting for to get the desired look. Particularly, if you’re about to go ahead with the option of cosmetic surgery using Silicone Breast Implants in the UK, approaching a cosmetic breast specialist will be ideal so that you get the benefit of dedicated experience over the diluted generality. The best part is that in the hands of a specialist you get better results and with greater safety. In comparison to saline, we note that silicone implants give a more natural appeal and feels much more like the real tissue in your breasts, though it is never an exact replica. A major reason behind this is that silicone implants are made up of medical grade silicone gel which can conveniently mimic your real breast tissue.
Besides this, another benefit why surgeons recommend Silicone Breast Implants is that it can resist rippling, especially of using the most cohesive gel implants. Thus, you will not have to be stressed about getting those annoying wrinkles on your delicate skin. And, having a natural feel, silicone implants become the first choice of women as well as the specialist. However, prior to choosing this as your ultimate option for breast enlargement, it is recommended that you clearly discuss the process of surgery. By doing so, you will not only know about the best-suited size for your frame but also prepare yourself for the surgery.

In summary, to regain your confidence with an ideal breast enlargement procedure, make sure to get in touch with an experienced and “specialist” surgeon. For this, you can refer to the internet, read online reviews and also ask for recommendations as well to find a reliable expert in their field.

Reasons Why Some Patients Now Choose Breast Implant Removal!

Breast augmentation is one of the most exciting procedures that can assist a woman to feel more confident about her appearance. By approaching the right surgeon, you can attain the most satisfying results. Nevertheless, not all breast implant operations are without complications, sometimes related to poor planning, technical problems or unwanted changes with the implants later on. Sometimes it becomes crucial to fix and remove the breast implants – here are some of those reasons:

Capsular Contracture:

There are several breast augmentation complications that may occur, but this one is the most commonly reported in studies that can result in the need for Replacement Breast Implant Surgery, or Breast Implant Removal in the UK, Europe or the USA. It is caused by the improper development of the capsule that forms around the implant. In nearly 20-25 percent of people, the capsule either doesn’t develop properly (usually becoming too tight) or it over-develops (often by thickening and contracting). This is something that makes the surgery less effective, and affects the breast shape and feel. When that occurs, you have to consider the removal of the breast implant and the surrounding capsule.

Rupture & Leakage:

As you know, most breast implants are made of a cohesive silicone gel surrounded by a silicone plastic balloon (called the shell). Although these are very strong at the point of manufacture and at the time of initial implant placement, the implant can weaken with age related changes in the body. It is therefore evident that they can rupture and even leak in some cases. This rupture can be silent, or it can distort the shape as well as the size of the breast. It can cause a lump in the breast or the lymph nodes. Any change in the appearance of your boobs should always be checked by a specialist. Implants that are 10 years or older should be considered for renewal. The median rupture rate at around 10 years is approximately 10 percent, rising even higher thereafter, and most are silent and would only be recognized on an MRI scan. Having your implants removed and replaced at 10 years must surely be better than waiting for a complication.

Infection:

This is another complication that may necessitate Breast Implant Removal. Like other surgical operations, breast implant surgery also carries a small risk of infection and although uncommon, it can also occur at any point. The risk of contamination is greatest at the time when the implants are first placed. Patients who have breast implant surgery with Mr Turton, in Leeds, are fortunate as he uses a 14-point plan to reduce infection risk, but this is not universal across the UK. Once past the 3-month mark after surgery, infection is very rare indeed. But, occasionally, infection can occur years later, from a source of bacteria elsewhere in the body like a dental abscess, or root canal treatment, or from an episode of mastitis related to pregnancy. Whilst minor infections on the skin can be readily treated, infection on the surface of an implant is almost impossible to eradicate with antibiotics, and thus the preference would be to choose breast implant removal.

Seroma:

This is a fluid collection around a breast implant that usually makes the breast look suddenly bigger. When it occurs out of the blue, more than a year after breast implants were first inserted, the fluid has usually formed as a reaction to another problem such as implant rupture, a breast injury, or infection. But, be aware that in 10% of cases of seroma, it can indicate a more serious problem such as implant lymphoma (ALCL), so it must not be ignored. Early ALCL can be treated very successfully with full removal of the capsule and implant, so always see a specialist straightaway if you have any of these rare problems. In the UK and Europe, the majority of breast implants that are used are textured, albeit to different degrees of roughness, and current research knowledge reveals that this type of textured implant has an overall (average) risk of around 1 in 30,000. This is therefore not common, but looking more closely at the data, the most textured seem to have a higher chance of between 1 in 1000 and 1 in 10,000, and the lesser textured a lower chance of around 1 in 30,000 to 1 in 60,000! There is an even lower risk still with smooth surfaced implants, which have grown in popularity, and are also the most popular type used in the USA, but are not suitable for every one.
In summary, if you are considering replacement of your implants, or if you prefer Breast Implant Removal in the UK or in Europe, then you should approach a proficient and experienced surgeon. For this, you can usually get help from the internet but you must make sure you find the right surgeon who you can trust and from whom you can get effective treatment!

Breast Enlargement Surgery, Implant Renewal or Implant Removal – Requirements For Women To Gain Their Self-Confidence

Perfectly shaped or full natural breasts are the desire for most women. It helps to enhance attractiveness and beauty, gives a boost to self-confidence and offers a positive self-image. In some cases, often owing to the affects of childbirth, weight loss, ageing or simply genetics women are not satisfied with their breast size, shape or the development of emptiness, sagging or drooping.

Breast Implant Surgery is often a one-stop solution that is the best option to address small size and emptiness in an effective manner. Women with sagging and drooping breasts are likely to need an uplift either alone or in combination with Breast Implants, to create more fullness. Breast implant surgery can be adjusted to your dimensions helping to optimize your breast shape and size, to create better proportions between the upper and lower body.  For those who are looking at having their breast implants replaced at the 10-year mark, which is done for safety, or to simply adjust the size, this might be done as a simple exchange or in combination with a breast lift. This is a good time for a thorough cosmetic breast evaluation, to check for capsular contraction, to check your lymph nodes, to reassess proportions and see if you might benefit from a slightly fuller or even smaller implant, a lighter weight product or a different implant profile. Getting up to date with the latest breast and implant health related information from a Specialist is also very important.
Finally, there are some women opting for breast implant removal without replacement, and this can include a full or partial capsulectomy for histology if needed. When the implants aren’t replaced, the surgery could be paired with a breast lift if you are suitable, as the breasts will likely droop or sag more after the implant removal. There are many factors to be discussed with your breast surgeon in advance of implant removal and there are big advantages to having this surgery done by a specialist. It begins with removing the capsule-like scar tissue that surrounds the implant before removing the implant itself, and this helps to restore natural softness and distensibility to the breast. The capsule is sent for histopathology in most cases where it is thickened for extra checks. The removed implant can then be examined and photographed if needed.

If you would like to find an expert breast surgeon to carry out your breast enlargement, implant renewal or an implant removal operation, find out more from https://CosmeticBreastSurgeon.co.uk. The surgery usually takes under an hour, and is done using general anesthesia with a one-night stay for your comfort.
